Movistar's little Colombian climber is the longest-serving rider in this eight, part of the team since 2020 and a Giro top-10 finisher in each of the last two years. Rubio is the classic always-attacking escarabajo — perpetually on the front foot, animating mountain stages whether hunting a breakaway win or setting tempo. At this Tour he doubles as Uijtdebroeks's most important bodyguard in the high mountains and Movistar's best hope of ending a seven-year Tour stage drought.

Palmarès

  • Giro d'Italia stage 13 winner at Crans-Montana (2023)
  • 7th overall Giro d'Italia (2024)
  • 8th overall Giro d'Italia (2025)
  • 31st overall Tour de France (2025)
Cut-out factHe won his 2023 Giro stage by outsprinting Thibaut Pinot atop Crans-Montana on a snow-shortened stage — and at 56 kg he is one of the very lightest riders in the entire Tour peloton.
