A cyclocross prodigy turned Ardennes specialist, Hermans joined from Alpecin-Deceuninck for 2026 to give the team punch on hilly terrain. His calling card remains a stunning runner-up ride at Liège–Bastogne–Liège in 2022, and his Basque Country stage win in 2024 proved the fast finish still bites. Expect him in the medium-mountain breakaways and shepherding Pidcock through nervous finales.

Palmarès

  • 2nd, Liège–Bastogne–Liège (2022)
  • Stage winner, Itzulia Basque Country (2024)
  • UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup winner, Fayetteville (2021)
  • European U23 cyclo-cross champion (2015, 2016)
  • Flèche du Sud overall winner (2019)
Cut-out factOf his LBL podium he admits: 'I didn't even realise I was sprinting for second place — and that made it even more special.'
