The towering Mantuan is the metronome of Visma's team time trial squad — the 2024 European champion against the clock and a bronze medallist at the Worlds. He gave the team a scare by crashing out of the Italian championships days before the Tour, but was cleared of fractures and takes his place for the Barcelona TTT. In his sixth season with the team, he is one of its most loyal engines on the flat.
