After a lean 2025 he publicly blamed on his old team, Girmay has roared back with three wins in the first half of 2026, the latest a photo-finish defeat of Tim Merlier at the Baloise Belgium Tour. Two years after his green-jersey Tour, the whole team has been built around delivering him to the line again.
