Arguably enjoying the best season of his career, the Basque puncheur won a stage of his home race Itzulia in April and another at the Baloise Belgium Tour in June. Signed from Movistar on a three-year deal in 2025, Aranburu is Cofidis's card for the hilly finishes and reduced-group sprints — and he has never been closer to a first Grand Tour stage win.

Palmarès

  • Spanish national road race champion (2024)
  • Itzulia Basque Country stage winner x3 (2021, 2025, 2026)
  • Stage winner, Baloise Belgium Tour (2026)
  • Stage winner, Vuelta a Burgos (2019)
Cut-out factHis 2025 Itzulia stage win was briefly taken away — he was disqualified for riding the wrong side of a roundabout in the finale — then reinstated on appeal hours later.
